What each tool is

WatermarkRemover.io is an automatic watermark-detection tool built on the Pixelbin platform, with image, video and PDF support; WipeMark's eraser is a free, manual brush for removing anything from your own photo, image only. WatermarkRemover.io's terms of use confirm it is operated by Shopsense Retail Technologies Limited, under the Pixelbin brand that also runs Erase.bg, Upscale.media and Shrink.media. Its core pitch is "Smart and Automatic Watermark Detection," and it is sold alongside object removal, background removal and image generation as part of a wider suite.

WipeMark's eraser, at /erase-image, is a manual tool: you paint or box the thing you want gone, and an inpainting model fills the gap. WipeMark also removes backgrounds on the home page. There is no account, and it is meant for your own photos rather than for stripping other people's watermarks.

The free tier in detail

WatermarkRemover.io allows a small number of free images a day with no account, then asks you to sign up. Its pricing page FAQ states: "You can try our service for up to 2 images daily without creating an account." Its terms of use repeat this, describing use "without signing up for a limited number of images," after which you are redirected to Pixelbin to create an account. Once signed up, the same pricing page says you "Get 3 free credits and 3 free downloads every month." Input is capped at "Max resolution 5,000 × 5,000 px."

The free download's actual quality is unclear from WatermarkRemover.io's own page source, which contains two conflicting strings: one that says "Low Quality Image Downloaded!" with a prompt to "Sign Up & Download HD," and a separate banner claiming "Download images in the same resolution that you upload." We could not confirm from the static page which applies in practice, so we report both.

WipeMark's eraser has no daily limit, no account and no credits: paint over the area, wait a few seconds, and repeat as many times as you want on the same photo.

Quality and edge cases

WatermarkRemover.io's advantage is automatic detection: it finds the watermark for you, where WipeMark's eraser needs you to paint or box the area yourself. For a semi-transparent logo scattered across many photos, automatic detection saves time. For a one-off object, like a cup left in frame or a sign behind a subject, manual selection is just as fast and gives you direct control over the edges. We have not run a side-by-side quality test between the two tools, so we make no claim about whose inpainting result looks cleaner.

Privacy and uploads

WatermarkRemover.io's privacy policy gives no deletion window for uploaded images, and its terms take a broad, perpetual license over what you upload; WipeMark sends only a reduced crop and stores nothing. Its privacy policy lists "Images, Pictures, Photos" among the "sensitive personal data" it may collect, store or process, and states: "we reserve all the rights to retain your information and any data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy," without giving a specific window. Its terms of use go further, stating that by uploading you grant "a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to ... reproduce, ... create derivative works from, display worldwide ... any material posted by you on the Platform." Its acceptable use policy adds that content may be used, on an aggregated or de-identified basis, "for research, analysis, profiling, and similar purposes ... including for the development and upgrade of our Services."

WipeMark sends only the area around the thing you want removed, at most 1024 pixels on the long side, to its server; LaMa fills the gap, and the patch is placed into your full-size photo in your browser. Nothing is stored or logged. See our privacy page for details.

Where WatermarkRemover.io is better

WatermarkRemover.io is the stronger pick when the job is specifically detecting and removing watermarks at scale, including on video or PDFs. It has capabilities WipeMark does not offer:

  • Automatic watermark detection, rather than manual selection.
  • Video and PDF watermark removal, alongside still images.
  • An API with SDKs in multiple languages, for building watermark removal into your own product.
  • Android and iOS apps (the iOS app is listed as "Unmarkit").
  • A wider Pixelbin suite, including object removal, background removal and image generation, under one account.

WipeMark's eraser only works on still images, is entirely manual, has no API and no mobile app, needs a connection for the erase step, and is new.

When to use which

Use WipeMark's eraser for removing something from your own photo, especially a one-off object; use WatermarkRemover.io when you need automatic detection across many images, or video and PDF support. If you took a photo and want a sticker, a sign or a passerby gone, WipeMark gives you that for free, repeatedly, with no account. If you are processing a batch of files with a recurring watermark and want it found automatically, or need the result on video or a PDF, WatermarkRemover.io's tooling covers that, within the terms you agree to on upload. For the general legal question around watermarks that are not yours, see is it legal to remove a watermark.

Free, full size, no sign-up and no watermark.

There is no account to set up on WipeMark's side.

  1. Open the eraser and drop in your photo.

  4. Repeat on the same photo as many times as you need.

Questions people ask

Is WatermarkRemover.io free?

Partly. Its own pricing FAQ says you can try the service for up to 2 images a day without creating an account. Beyond that, or for batch processing, you are redirected to sign up with Pixelbin, its parent platform, and given 3 free credits and 3 free downloads a month.

Does WatermarkRemover.io add a watermark to its own results?

Not stated. We did not find a statement on its pages about a watermark on the result image itself, so we are not claiming one either way.

Is it legal to use WatermarkRemover.io on images I don't own?

WatermarkRemover.io's own terms put the responsibility on you. Its terms state you affirm you own the copyrights of the media you process, and its homepage FAQ separately says watermark-free images should not be used commercially without the original owner's consent. See our post on whether it is legal to remove a watermark for the broader question.

What is the best free alternative to WatermarkRemover.io with no account?

If what you actually need is to remove something from your own photo, such as a sticker, a logo you placed yourself, or an object, WipeMark's eraser does that for free with no daily limit and no account, and nothing is stored on WipeMark's side. WatermarkRemover.io's specific strength is automatic detection of third-party watermarks, video and PDF support, which WipeMark does not offer.

Who owns WatermarkRemover.io?

WatermarkRemover.io is operated by Shopsense Retail Technologies Limited under the Pixelbin brand, the same company behind Erase.bg, Upscale.media and Shrink.media.
